Jackie Chan Double Bill :: Police Story & Drunken Master II April 5th

7

It’s almost photo time… but first…

This Sunday (5th April) I’ll be showing a double bill of Jackie Chan’s Police Story and Drunken Master 2 - considered by many to be his finest - come along to The Bloor from 7pm and decide for yourself!

Sunday, April 5

  • 7:00 Police Story (Jackie Chan, 1985)

“You may know the name, but the game has changed.”

  • 9:30: Drunken Master 2 (Chia-Liang Liu, 1994)

Jackie Chan finds he can fight better while inebriated, in what’s frequently considered his best movie.

Edgar Says: Jackie Chan was always my kung fu hero. The martial arts Buster Keaton delivers here again in his groundbreaking (and glass shattering) classic Police Story and in the barnstorming sequel to Drunken Master. Come worship at the altar of Jackie.

I’m always happy when I see Jackie Chan. He just looks like a guy who’s always having a good time. I used to watch his cartoon, Jackie Chan Adventures, religiously. Wish I could be there, I haven’t seen any of the Police Story series. Hope everyone has a good time!

I love that car chase down the hill and through the houses in police story. Those guys are crazy.

I’m hoping that you’ll do a Wright Stuff again when you film the next “blood and ice-cream” film as I assume/hope it will take place in England and by that time I will be at university there
England is a big place but I am willing to travel
It’s a lot less of a trek than from Jersey to Toronto

  5. Colin says:

DRUNKEN MASTER 2 is, without question, the greatest martial arts film of all time.

  6. Jacob says:

Sundays are bad nights for me (as a suburb dweller), but I NEED to get to one of these showings.

  7. Matt says:

Is City Hunter ever going to get included? These are two of his classics but that has to be his weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. If you need proof of this….
