Video Archives: After Hours ~ The Bluetones - dir. Edgar Wright (2002)

This was my second video for those lovely Bluetones boys (the first being Keep The Home Fires Burning) and is still one of my favourite things I’ve ever done. The Bugsy Malone homage came about because I remarked how Mark Morriss’ amazing song had a Paul Williams flavour.

The video is comprised (mostly) of one single shot, of which we did 9 takes. Choreography was by Litza Bixler, who also did the Don’t Stop Me Now sequence in Shaun Of The Dead.

    I love everything about this video. The song is one of my all time favourites and I’m a huge Bluetones fan. It really couldn’t get much better. I’d also like to add that I very much enjoy listening to your commentaries on The Bluetones Blue Movies DVD. 😀

    The reference to Bugsy sparked my interest in the movie which I watched and loved.

    I was going through the old posters at the art theater in my home town and found a pristine Bugsy Malone poster for $5 dollars. I had to get it.

    Can I just say, that I hate how itunes US has a completely different selection from itunes UK. I can’t get this song or Bastardo. Grr…

        Ah! I tunes UK doesn’t like my US billing address. Damn you inferior US dollar. Sigh…I will just have to order Grey Will Fade off of Amazon. On the bright side- get a great cd and perhaps a chance that a cute amazon delivery boy will take a subspace highway shortcut through my head.
