Got to wait till 4th of September here in the UK, damnit, i cant wait, just watched the original short ‘Alive in Joburg’ which is fantastic in it’s own right, now i’m practically drooling at the prospect of seeing District 9. It looks like a return to thought provoking Sci-fi at it’s best.
By the way Edgar, if you’ve not seen it I recommend ‘A Man Who Was Superman’ by Jeong Yoon-chul.
an amazingly moving film starring Jun Ji Hyun from Blood the last vampire, It’s one of the best movie’s i’ve seen in a long time.
I went and saw the first 30 minutes of it - motion sickness from the shaky-camera kicked in about that time. Even so, it was a pretty good 30 minutes. Can’t wait for the DVD.
Great movie!! Loved it so much!
Props to the people at Weta, too.
I think they should’ve left out the part where he turns into Tony Stark and the movie turns into a testosterone kill-fest that rivals Die Hard.
Needed more conspiracy. Needed more of a Moral Grey Area.
The first majority of the movie was good though. Lol’d at the Halo props.
I want to see this so bad but of course I have to deal with the late Mexico release dates.
Now I kind of want to see the Halo movie Blomkamp and Jackson originally wanted to make.

Now I really want to see it from everyone’s reviews here!
Hmm. Must re-think my position on this film. Hubby wanted to see it over the weekend but I couldn’t be bothered. Sounds like I SHOULD bother.
Im really excited about this film, & the footage i saw at Comic Con was just awesome, i already know its gonna be in my top 5 movies for this year
For some reason, I absolutely love it when South Africans say “You take your boy, huh? You take him home!” It’s just the coolest accent.
Copely is a revelation. Can you believe some people call his acting too exaggerated?
What does everyone have against shaky camera footage? For movies like this (Blair Witch/Cloverfield) it adds to the effect.
Can’t wait to see this.
I’ve also only heard good things about this film. I intend to go & see it soon.
Thanks for your extra input, Edgar.
Feel the love.
dolfyn.
Excellent. One of the only movies of which I honestly can not see why anyone wouldn’t like it.
I’ve only heard good things.
Amazing bloody film. I intend to see it again ASAP.
Best film of 2009, could not agree more.
I cannot wait to see that, if only to see what I think of it. I’ve heard every opinion on it from outright hating it to absolutely loving it.
Anyone who outright hates it is a fool. One of the best of 2009 so far. Fantastic.
I look so forward seeing this ! Finally get to see it ,(Wed) (on birthday)
Just got back from seeing this and edgar is totally right. great movie.
Maybe I should have seen this instead of The Time Traveler’s Wife the other night… Oh well. Next time.
Max Landis outright hated it.

I recommend going back and sitting in the back row.
He’s right (Wright?) The same could have been said about Cloverfield.
