Man, we had such a crazy storm here. I was hiding inside my house at the time but looking at photos afterwards is fun! My friend took some awesome ones of the deep purple sky.

Hm, north-west of the CN Tower… I will try not to use my ~*urban planning skillz*~ in thinking about where you’re staying, haha. Enjoy the rest of your time in my hometown! :)

  2. Dylan 37 says:

This is the second Micheal Cera movie you’ve seen during this shoot, Edgar. Do you ever get back to on Monday and compliment his proformance?

  3. Michelle in Arkansas says:

HA! The entire decade of the 80’s is by definition CHEESY to the MAX! Ah, those were the days…

  4. sarah XD says:

PAPER HEARTS WAS SOOO GOOD AND G.I. JOE NOT SO GOOD BUT FUNNY PEOPLE WAS THE BEST OF MY WEEKEND MOVIE TRIP SETH ROGEN IS SKINNY IT WAS AMAZING

  5. 5andman says:

Wow!?! You’re still in Toronto filming?????

  6. Paris says:

I saw both movies on the same day myself. You rating system is so much on point…

  7. pieface says:

edgar can i arx you to put up this Peter Serafinowicz linkage - he’s trying to get dvd demand for a release/to get it up amazon chart…

    his tweet:
(If you pre-order, you don’t have to actually buy until it gets released - and reviews are free…! http://bit.ly/6dm3Y)

    • pieface says:

wow and for my troubles an email and a DM all in the one evening - think you have competition for Nicest Man edgar!

more exciting ‘Inglourious’ advert news - midnight ad says Basterds - as i suspected, but voiceover man still just says ‘Inglourious’

(the bit with Brad Pitt & Hitler looks v funny - ‘Nein’ ‘Oh yes yes yes’!)

  8. pieface says:

i like the way the lightening’s gone ‘oop no, not the lovely pointy thing, this skyscraper here - zap!’

whats with the monolith on the balcony? or is it a giant pile of coffee grounds?

  9. Red says:

If you give Paper Heart a Junior Mint, then I definitely want to see it. I trust your rating system!

    That lightning shot is amazing.

  10. joel vallie says:

Felt like G.I. Joe to me.

  11. orangebandage says:

Now i know that GI Joe is a movie i can pass on…and know is half the battle…GI JOE!

  12. Juliarrr says:

“[Advil] may cause stomach bleeding,”…it was on wikipedia therefore it MUST be true

  13. SarahAC says:

    Wow! That lightning is freaky!
    Stay safe Edgar.

  14. Lobsterdeth says:

The only thing the GI Joe movie needed to be the perfect movie for hyperactive 12-year olds was dinosaurs.

Seriously, mecha suits, boobs, explosions, ninjas, lasers, cars that shoot rockets and shit.

    It was great.

  15. Sarah5636 says:

Im guessing they’ve put all the good bits into the trailer for GI Joe & the rest of the film is just cheesy fun, if i go & watch it i’m not expecting much would just go for a laugh. When i was at Comic Con i went to the Paper Heart panel, which was really funny. I’ve been looking forward to the film for a while now. I like the lightning photo, the thunderstorms in the UK are always pretty rubbish.

  16. Jay says:

You want some scary lightning? Come to Colorado; we’ve been hammered with these late-night lightning storms all summer that go on until two in the morning. Just be sure to unplug your computer at night or it’ll get fried - I learned that the hard way.

  17. Sasha says:

I love your ranking system. Junior mints = good movie. Advil = bad.

    • Chris Kraft says:

I don’t think it means “bad”, I think it just means that Advil is recommended to keep it from being a bad experience.

  18. Slick says:

Oh, I’ve GOT to see PAPER HEART. Charlene Yi is a bloody genius! As for GI JOE, I’ll pass.

  19. Michelle says:

    Weird Science!

  20. Jeremy says:

I just saw ‘The Cove’ at the Cumberland theater here in Toronto, Edgar. ( It’s a great documentary.)

  21. Syral says:

lol again with the anvil ? that movie was enjoyable with its action scenes….but the horrible acting made if funny.

    • Edgar Wright says:

I agree that the Paris scene was fun - it was Team America for real.

Although as my friend pointed out - they kept getting further and further away from the Eiffel Tower in every shot.

      • Ren Long says:

Oh God, I’m glad it wasn’t just me that noticed that.

But all in all, I dug it. Except for some shady backstories (the lack of a certain hot accent was slightly disappointing). It was certainly better than Transformers 2.

      • wendy says:

I would have taken the advil before seening just as a percaution lol.

  22. Saji says:

I don’t have much faith for a movie passing off a Wayans brother as a badass

  23. Annabelle says:

I went to Star Trek at the Omnidome (science centre) tonight and those storms were going full force for the trip home. It was pretty frickin awesome to say the least. Imagine: Simon Pegg’s face.. the size of a house :P

  24. Nick says:

Every part was cheesy, as I knew it would be. And yet, I went anyway. Oh this desire to witness the bastardization of my childhood.

    • Edgar Wright says:

It wasn’t cheesy in the 1980s?

      • Simon says:

I had a great time with G.I. Joe. Every vehicle looked like an awesome toy I’d have wanted as a boy. The Paris chase scene was perfect. The movie felt exactly like a scenario I would have had in my mind while playing with my toys in my back yard. It was a perfect G.I. Joe experience, that doesn’t make it a masterpiece by any stretch of the word, but it did what it set out to do.

  25. Keiichi-chan says:

i saw paper heart at the chicago screening and met charylne!
i thought it was a great movie, too! i hope it does well this weekend!

  26. Amber says:

oooh scary/awesome lightning photo E…( love storms)

I heard GI Joe had some cheesy parts in it….
