Okay, this is the penultimate plug for tomorrow night’s epic midnight movie meltdown.

DEATH WISH 3!

Now with Cliff Notes for those of you who haven’t seen the previous installments.

And also featuring the above spiffy quad version of Sam Gilbey’s limited edition poster.

Fri 19 Feb 11:30pm | Curzon Soho, 99 Shaftesbury Avenue W1D 5DY 0871 703 3988 More details on their site.

Previously on Death Wish…

Death Wish (1)

In the original and really rather good instalment, mild mannered architect Charlie Bronson has his family wiped out by NYC scum. With grim results.

Death Wish 2

In the second and really quite repellent instalment, hard bitten architect Charlie Bronson has his new wife, daughter and housemaid wiped out by LA scum. With exceptionally grim results.

Death Wish 3

And showing tomorrow, the third and really quite ghetto fabulous instalment. In this one, tough as nails, former architect Charlie Bronson avenges some friends of friends that have been wiped out by Lambeth-doubling-for-NYC scum.

With mind bogglingly violent results.

You simply have to be there.

Although do not attempt a drinking game whenever a goon is shot. You will die.

did you name ‘saaanforrrd’ (deilberate sumersat) after Sandford in Wareham in Dorset? or is it me just being over obsessed?

I love that movies, but I have a conflict between the original name (Death Wish) of the saga and the mexican translation (El Vengador Anónimo, something like “The Anonymous Avenger”)

Really gutted i can't make it tonight. Even more gutted that you may not be doing a Wright Stuff screening in London for a while, but i suppose your really busy at the moment. I can't make it to Comic Con this year, so i'm going to keep the money i've saved & come out to LA if you do another Wright Stuff at the New Bev. I wish i was out in LA for Jason Reitman's screenings this week, he's got 3 really cool double bills coming up. Hope the editing is going well, have a fun time tonight Ed :D

Oh. Don't say that - it's all I'm moving to London for.
Okay not quite but was really looking forward to being able to get to one.
You know it'll get to about June and you'll be itching to do another (hope hope)?!

    Wish I could be there.
    Have fun all!

Who knows when and if there will be another?

Stanley Kauffmann, one of the few film critics I've ever read on a regular basis, gave a sort-of warm review to the original DEATH WISH-particularly Bronson's performance. I think it played quite cynically with people's fears about crime, but it's still a pretty good NY-as-hell movie nonetheless.

My day had begun its downward slope towards suckage and these trailers put a happy smile on my face. I feel a marathon of my own coming on since I don't live anywhere near London.
