I think he means the extra music that the breakdown had. And I totally agree with Scottman on that one.

  • Casey

Yeah. And not to add to it, but I swear I saw a video or read something in an interview where it’s said that Scott doesn’t fight Roxy, Ramona does. It seems strange, but it’s necessary consolidation for such a hefty series. Especially when most drafts of the script were finished just half way through the book series.

Perhaps from the scene in Vol. 5 where Gideon is show unobtrusively in a couple of panels, but doesn't actually take part in the action. I think that's what we're referring to.

  • Vasco Patricio Pessoal

Could still be in the fight against Gideon. If the fights against Todd and the twins are music fights, it can be the same against Gideon. Scott with his flame sword while the band plays. And the fact they're dressed differently might be an indicator they're playing in the final battle.

Even though their clothing seems like their clothing in the comic books during the concert before The Clash, I have no idea what they're doing in the fight against Gideon in those outfits. The only explanation I can think of is what I stated above. It's just a guess I think.

  • Vasco Patricio Pessoal

Edgar, one thing I'm dying to know:

Will Knives's dad show up? That was one of the most awesome scenes I had the pleasure of watching in the comic books.

  • Vasco Patricio Pessoal

Yes! Exactly! With the introduction of the Scott vs. Luke Wilson - I mean, Lucas Lee's doubles, it changes the plot. Will Lucas still die after a Bam Margera-worthy skate fall? I'd love to see that.

And will the 16 year-old Winifred Hailey, the girl that stars with Lucas, appear? As there is a fight between eight or nine poster-came-real copies of her and Scott, and that was on an extra comic, not included in the volumes, I'm guessing it won't be put in the movie and instead Edgar Wright thought of the Scott vs. Lucas doubles fight. That's only my guess.

And please, Edgar, if there will be any new trailer released before the movie comes out, make it show Envy. Brie Larson is just HOT. It's criminal not to show her.

By background music do you mean the music from the trailer? Because I don't think they had the ability to take out the music but keep the dialogue…

One of the reason's I love Edgar's work is that amazing attention to detail. I saw the Pee Bar reflection in the mirror as well. Its details like that that make Edgar's work absolutely incredible.

  • Scottman

WOW. That background music was annoying, and doubly unnecessary. I think I have a headache now. Other than that, it was fun to watch. 😀

They know their stuff that's for sure!

@Martian: You may be right. I was referencing the comic, and since both Roxanne and Envy have blonde hair in this film, I just figured it must've been Envy. Upon closer inspection, it does appear to be Roxy instead.

@HaplesLackwit: Didn't even catch those dragons. Makes a bit more sense in your context. The only reason we believed it to be from the Scott/Gideon fight was because you see the two “patronus”-like things fighting in a relfection in what appear to be Gideon's glasses.

Anyway, looks like we misinterpreted a few things, but we're glad you all enjoyed the video. Thanks for your feedback, and if you guys caught something else we didn't, don't be afraid to point it out here. We're just as interested in the minutiae as you.

I don't think Ramona is flipping out of the way of an attack from envy adam, more a flip out of the way of roxanne. I think it looks to be that way because of the whip-like weapon being used by roxanne in a previous trailer and the whip used when ramon leaps out of the way.

  • HaplessLackwit

I was pretty sure the “patronus” things were crazy music beasts from Sex Bob-Omb's battle with the Katayanagi twins, as the “blue thing” is fighting what appears to be a dragon, specifically one of these guys: http://www.flickr.com/photos/edgarwright/377629

I may be wrong. It's happened before.

I really want to see “Action Doctor” now! XD
Nice frame by frame. I only wish they had mentioned the reflection of the pee bar in the mirror which I thought was amazing attention to detail!

  • Stygius

ENVY!!! The hand twitch at the end is well done physical comedy. That spirit animal(?) idea is a bit far fetched and I thought it was taken from the 5&6 fight. Regardless, what the world wants to know is, does Lucas Lee become $14 after a garbage bail off a rail grind?

  • Spencer Renna

    Did they mess something up?
When he says “And heres Ramona flipping out of the way of an attack from Envy Adams at Lees Palace”

To me it looks like shes flipping out of the way of an attack from Roxy.
    Am I wrong?

So not only are you excellent at what you do, Mr Wright. You also seem to be a stand-up bloke who's really interested in what people think of your work. For that, I tip my hat (if I had one) to you. Well done.

Cannot wait to see this. And as a fan of Paul Robertson's art, I cannot wait for the videogame either…
