Those are cool photos, i’ve just watched the Q&A on You Tube, looked like it was a great evening. I remember i was lucky enough to be in LA for the Gremlins Q&A you did with Joe Dante, i think that was at about 1AM, truly awesome & one of the best nights of my holiday :)

DAMN! I want to see this movie so very fucking badly, but I’m live in Thailand and it’s not coming to show here. AH I’m so jerlous for everyone who’s saw this in Theatre, or Comic-Con or in this event! I love to be there too, and I’m a hugh fan of Edgar Wright & Scott Pilgrim!

    Love you guys!

When are events like this going to stop ignoring Lafayette? Artists love to come and view (Listen to one of Paul Simon’s recent live versions of “Mrs. Robinson”; you can hear the cajun/zydeco influences), but performers and events seem to ignore us! It’s frustrating to live in a massive cultural center which isn’t openly acknowledged as such! (Though it’s nice on account of the culture itself)

    • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

No disrespect to Lafayette or any other town. Truth is, all the people in that picture live in Los Angeles. I myself didn’t know whether i’d be able to attend until the Wednesday. The whole thing came together in a very impromptu way, which is easier when everyone is in the same town.

Gah! The event in November has already sold out. This is great news for the movie, but really bad news for myself. I had to leave earlier than I would have liked last time because my friend had a 3 hour drive back home and I didn’t want to make him wait for me to try to get a handshake or picture or something from someone. I wonder, how early I should show up to try to get a standby ticket?

        Four things:
1)ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod, I got a reply. Imagine me saying this while doing the Homer Simpson anxious dance.
        2) Gah! Again! Those tickets must have sold out in like 15 minutes! At least there’s still the standby line.
3)Even if I don’t get in, thanks a bunch for doing stuff like this for us fans. Last Friday night was one of this year’s highlights for me. It’s good to know that there are still filmmakers out there who really care about us depraved geeky fans.

        • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

Am sure if you get there early for the standby line it should be okay.

          • b1gfatho

You’ll excuse me if I geek out again about the second reply and do the Homer dance again, and I shall be there early, if I can’t get in Friday then there’s always Saturday. It’s not like I have anything to do, I mean, the life of a Community College film geek is less action packed than you would think. It’s the only way I could have seen the movie 11 times.

Edgar will you be at this event again in November? I really wanted to go to this one so badly I would’ve paid even more. haha

  • Achayenay

To the beloved Mr. Edgar Wright:

I was fortunate enough to be at this event and I wanted to tell you how absolutely and disgustingly grateful I am for your (and the cast’s!) presence and consideration toward your fans. I vow, even as rotting 90 year old flesh, to be a devoted admirer of your genius, Scott Pilgrim, and the most perfect actors/actresses involved in the film- particularly due to that amazing, amazing night.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you, a million times over.

The entire Q&A that followed the midnight screening in HD. Thank you for your patience as I had to convert the mts files for youtube, then upload them on my slow DSL connection. A lot of great humor in these clips. I hope everyone that wasn’t able to go enjoys this, as well as those that were able to attend so they can relive those 35 minutes…

I didn’t record the montage because I think people should buy the DVD when it comes out.

And yes, you’re welcome to use any of my photos Edgar.

I didn’t see your question because I had DM notifications off. They are on now. I would have taken better pictures, but didn’t want to invade anyone’s space. Everyone was so nice to show up that I didn’t want to make anyone regret it and not show up at future screenings.

Thank you again for the note. I’ll be taking it to the shop tomorrow for a custom frame job.

Pretty epic picture. Happy October 1st.

  • M4rch_m0p

Brie Larson totally doesn’t look like Brie Larson on this photo. mmm, where’s Allison Pill? no Pill?

    • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

Pill was in NYC, as was Culkin.

  • Stuart

I am so insanely jealous right now.

  • Robert Anascavage

Ah the one weekend I can’t make it out to LA from Vegas. Oh well. Sounds like an awesome production for an awesome movie. I’m jealous :)

  • MikeYankeeLimaEchoSierra

Damnit! I lucked out at Comic Con for the screening there and I lucked out on getting tickets for this one…. At least I got to see you and the cast at the Scott Pilgrim Experience!

Hey remember when I went to that and you all were totally like “Hey Joe!” and I was like “HEY!!!” and ya’ll thought fondly of me and we were the best of friends? ahhh… good times… [/fiction] :(

  • asterisk93

Everything having to do with this movie looks insanely fun. You all must have had a ball working on it. =P

Ever have that “It was awesome while it lasted” Feeling?

AGH! I can’t believe I missed this last night! New Beverly Cinemas rules!

  • B-dog91

Edgar, is there any chance of this happening in the UK? Please say yes, I’m a massive scottaholic

    • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

I was just there. Did five Q&As in the UK in late August. Won’t be there for a while again.

  • b1gfatho

Last night was just about the most amazing night I’ve had, ever, I’m putting this over my first time at Comic Con. When they announced your name I freaked out, then you went ahead and announced just about every other person in the movie, and I nearly went into a nerd coma. Thanks for making last night as excellent as it was, and for doing a 3 am Q and A. And now I hear there’s gonna be another one on November 12th. Well color me tickled pink.

I’m from Costa Rica (Central America), where lots of movies don’t get screened, or randomly show up months and months after their original run. Is there any chance the movie will be released in theaters down here? Or should I just abandon all hope, pre-order the DVD on Amazon and cry myself to sleep tonight.

  • http://twitter.com/Haku_ph Paulo Henrique

Times like this I just wish to God I lived on the States… =(

Here in Brazil, the movie hasnt even premiered yet!

  • jrands

Wish I had known about this :(

    • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

I never blogged about it - because it sold out as soon as it was announced by the New Beverly. Apologies! There may be another before the end of the year.

      • Yamicloud5

Mr. Wright Im from Puerto RIco yeah here not that many movies are made (even though is a beautifull island with sexy beaches) I was wondering If you could do a screening of the movie here at PR. Let me tell you this PR loves your movie I personally felt inspired by the movie cuz I saw it a day I had no motivation what soo ever. Your master piece gave me happyness on my time of need. Soo I would be happy too meet all the people who made that movie possible.I would be honored greatly too meet you all. Heres my email: [email protected] if your interesed in doing a sequell I would be glad to be another one of the evil Exes 😀 or even an Extra on the background jaajjaaja Anyway thanks for listening

      • jrands

Truly honored to get a reply Edgar. That would be great if there was another similar type event here in the Los Angeles area before year’s end. It would give another chance for a lot of fans who missed this event an opportunity to enjoy the movie with and meet the cast and crew. If this was a Twitter-type thing, then might have to lift my self-imposed Twitter ban!

        • http://www.edgarwrighthere.com Edgar Wright

There is another midnight show at the New Bev on Nov 12th. Maybe not with all the guests as last time, but with myself and the amazing Doug Benson.

          • jrands

That’s great news. Gonna have to postpone my road trip by a day to catch this, but will be worth it. Awesome.

I took this pic in Toronto last week — the Bloor Street cinema next to the Sonic Boom record store where a scene from the movie takes place. Honest Ed’s is just down the street.

It was really awesome to see you all out there, and I think it was greatly appreciated you were willing to do such an early morning/late night Q&A. Based on your tweets I got their 7 hours earlier to be first in line to ensure I got a standby ticket. I could never beat the guy who watched your film 29 times, but hey…it was my lucky 12th, and it worth it just to see you all. If you ever do this again for the Blu-ray release, I may actually have a camera so I can take pictures of the occasion and with you and the others. Thanks again to you and your cast for being so great to your fans.

I’m glad you got in. I was there at 2pm and it was hot as hell outside that cinema. That you were there at 5pm when it was still blazing is impressive. I love this movie, but I was really happy to hear that it was going to be cooler on Friday than it was last Monday while we all stood out there for hours before the theater could let us in, in their air conditioned goodness…

It pains me that I couldn’t be there. I moved to Santa Cruz for college, and one of the things I miss most about LA is the New Beverly. My life will never be complete until I meet Mark Webber and profess my love for him.
