‘Shaun of the Dead’ Photo-a-day / Shoot Day 53 / July 11th, 2003

Ten years ago, we shot the scenes in Shaun’s flat with the ‘ooh, he’s got an arm off’ zombie. See another panorama shot by Marcus Rowland and me wearing another Blues Explosion t-shirt.

The fine gentlemen playing the Suited Zombie is Tim Baggaley and he returns in ‘The World’s End’ as the barman in Pub 4: The Cross Hands. Look out for him.

When people ask what my favourite moment in ‘Shaun’ is, I frequently say this.

Mr Wright, don’t know if you read this but I have a fun idea for a movie and it could be really hilarious!
It centers around a guy in the united states who believes that a movie was written and produced for the sole purpose of attracting his attention. now, to accomplish this, the writer has to delve into this idiot’s past, locating old friends, college friends, girlfriends and roommates, family, etc and then, injects specific situations and personalities and bits and pieces of his past into the movie that only he will pick up on. our hero being gifted, figures this out and decides to travel to england to file a small claims suit against simon pegg, nick frost, etc but his intentions are found out as soon as he arrives at say, heathrow… so, he’s constantly subjected to anger management stuff during his entire miserable visit… he’s sent to all different places in england (get’s locked in highclere castle, falls into the cheese processing machine in tuxford creamery, etc, just really hilarious stuff) then, when he finally arrives at the courthouse, the judge could be played by (maybe) kate ashfield or lucy davis but all the judge does is give him the double talk and run around and just completely busts his chops…this could be really really funny! But…it DOES have a happy ending.
    Charlie :)

That’s a very seductive pose you are working there. “Just lounging around on the set, come get me” :-)

Haha. That’s quite discombobulating seeing you in the flat!
That’s quite fitting that guy is in The Cross Hands, as someone who has an arm off. (in the film and real life)

How many Cornetto’s did you get through shooting this scene? Were they real ice-cream?
