Army of Darkness

7:00 PM - Army of Darkness:

Unfortunate housewares employee Ash (Bruce Campbell) is transported back to the Middle Ages, where destiny has him squaring off against the titular army. Despite a larger narrative scope then the earlier films, Raimi expertly preserves the franchise’s formula for Looney Tunes-inspired anarchy and Svankmajer-esque experimentation. The proceedings are funnier then ever.

Team America: World Police

9:30 PM - Team America: World Police:

Initially conceived as an attempt to remake The Day After Tomorrow entirely with Gerry Anderson-inspired puppets, South Park co-creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone focused their satiric lens on Bruckheimer and Bay blockbusters with this “miniature” epic about an obnoxiously patriotic American military group bent on arrogantly spreading freedom across the globe while comically destroying everything in their path in doing so.
