Interesting story behind Bowie’s Berlin trilogy - at one point he was just eating Chilli and Milk. A suggestion for your diet during post-production perhaps?

Black Sabbath! One of my faves… the Drop of Water segment is THE most chilling sequence ever captured on celluloid. Period. Can’t watch it at night and I have to psych myself up to watch it during the day. (I’ve even bookmarked pages in my Bava book so I can avoid looking at “the face”) God I love Bava.

Edgar, what are your thoughts on Clean Shaven? I really enjoyed Keane. All the extreme close-up handheld shots (in the first 30mins) of Damian Lewis’ face on the big screen started to unbalance my headspace so I began to feel a sense of connnection to the William Keane character. Never got round to looking up Kerrigan’s debut effort. Guessing I should?

BLACK SABBATH, the flick that inspired the name for possibly the greatest (and definitely the first) heavy metal band.

And thank God for it, too. Otherwise classics like “Paranoid” and “The Wizard” would be by the band Earth.

    Wild Zero! Hell yes!
I hunted down the region 4 DVD, found out it didn’t exist but was going to be released a few months later and so preordered it (about a year or two ago) on the strength of this review by Chris Sims.

It is almost as awesome as the film and is a must read! I have since subjected many friends to WZ - though my wife refuses to go near it even though I made her listen to the review above which I read out to her (?!?). The Japanese girlfriend of one of my film-buddies wasn’t so sure about it either after we watched it…

Here are some zombie movies I liked that no one has mentioned
    Dance of the Dead
    Dead and Deader
    Flight of the Living Dead
    The Zombie Diaries
    Undead or Alive

Dead Snow was already mentioned but Ill put it on again so you don’t forget to watch it because it is one of the better ones.

also if you want to go back a bit theres
(1964) I Eat Your Skin. This one makes me laugh because I’m a Spanish speaker and the actors in this movie butcher the language and it makes me laugh plus the Zombies look like buggy eyed crack heads.
1941 King of the Zombies. This movie I watch every couple years because it makes me laugh. You’ll have to watch it to know what I mean.

I have a huge list of bad zombie movies but thats on another day.

Ugh, I’m so wholly annoyed as I watched QUARANTINE without even knowing it was a bloody remake! Still have yet to see REC.

I really must read some of those 33 1/3 books.
Coincidentally enough I just entered a competition a few days ago to win the “One Step Beyond” one.
That might be a good place to start (if I win it)

Wow, I’ve put “Clean, Shaven” postcard in my schedule book as a book cover.
I am Japanese and usually we learn the story “Rashomon” by Ryunosuke Akutagawa at the class of national language at an elementary school student :) I was very attracted by the story anyway.

Hey Edgar, I’m going to the University of Winchester in a couple of weeks - Film Studies, I hope you approve :)
Anywho, the reason I bring it up is I’m on a quest to get everyone to call it “The Winchester”, and so far so good :P
