    I like to climb out of bed in the middle of the night and stare out the window, though the scenery isn’t as beautiful as the one depicted in the picture above.

    Its so quiet and you create this illusion that everyone is asleep and I’m the only one enjoying this peaceful serenity.

    I love the sunset too, but somehow the feelings aren’t the same…

    I’m really not a fan of chick-flicks and would generally rather stick knitting needles in my ears than see a Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan film.
    But I always had a soft spot for Joe Vs the Volcano. It’s interestingly quirky.
    And has lots of great music in it.

I survived Kandahar and a month later I’m back in Kabul working on elections and by strange coincidence I’m watching the movie on local tv. While at a coffee shop in LA the second Meg Ryan character flashes a painting of a full moon (looks like the scene that shows up at the end of the movie). Can someone help me find that painting (even a decent reproduction). Also, it is one of my favorite movies, and I get to come back to CA in a week, finally. Thanks, Bg
