This is pretty amazing.

The lovely fellow who is Andrew Macdonald (producer of Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, The Last King Of Scotland among many others) sent me and Nira Park this e-mail earlier today…

I was in Soweto, South Africa last weekend.

I heard these kids laughing their heads off and went over to see what they were watching.

It was Hot Fuzz.

    I was backpacking South Africa in 07, and i ended up renting Hot Fuzz while staying in a hostel in Mossel bay (where they shoot alot of the shark docs). if i can remember correctly, the video store had a whole wall of the DVD right next to Mr. Bean's Holiday. i think i might have got the last copy that night.

    amazing! wish I could work out where they are, and what scene that is!

    I love that there's kids in Soweto that have heard "tosser" and seen Kevin Eldon with a spiderman face (among many things!).

    That sounds like a Cluedo statement. "It was Skinner, in the model village, with the lead pipe."

    wow that kinda make you feel good. Hot Fuzz transends cultral boundrys. I always thought your movies had something that everyone could could get and enjoy and this is proof.
