Video Archives: Hot Fuzz - The Director’s Cut Trailer (2007)
Here’s my Directors Cut trailer for HOT FUZZ that I edited just before the release in February 2007, inspired by the piece of score AVENGING ANGEL by Robert Rodriguez.

Ha! I haven’t seen that before. Brilliant all ways round.
I love Hot Fuzz. It will definitely be forever on my list of Favourite Movies.
Unless you make Maximum Tash. Then that’ll be my favourite movie ever.
First time I see the UK trailer for this one.
Trivia1: Hot Fuzz was your first movie released in Mexico’s cinemas.
Trivia2: When it was released on DVD, in the cover it had the line “De los creadores de Shaun of the Dead” (From the creators of Shaun of the Dead); although Shaun of the Dead’s latinamerican title is “Desesperar de los Muertos” (a mirror homage to Romero’s Dawn of the Dead latinamerican title: Despertar de los Muertos), Shaun of the Dead is far more popular in Mexico by its original title than the latinamerican one.
That was…AWESOME!
i remember seeing this trailer when Empire wrote about it (at least i think it was empire) its awesome and the soundtrack is frickin brilliant.
Edgar do you ever think..’hmm my trailers all seem mentally fast and action packed, maybe i should slow down before i cause seizures due to amazingly quick cuts’?
it’s insane how much you cram into your trailers without giving too much away…we’re you just sitting at the computer going ‘that shot, and that one..heck all of those and i want them to last for the duration of a blink’
Wasn’t Peter Jackson really pissed off he had 3 seconds in the movie?
Its nice of you to pop him the trailer alongside Mr. Pump and skidmarks
*in the trailer
…im so retarded ¬_¬
Awesome trailer for a awesome flick.
Those guns have fantastic names. XD Did you come up with them all, or was it a group effort?
Ahhh, wish I’d seen this trailer instead of the one on television fifty million times (i.e., one that doesn’t ruin all the best jokes).
This is the music I like to wake up to because I forgot to put the dvd player on sleep.
Hot Fuzz was the first work of yours that I saw, and it’s what made me become a fan. 20 minutes after my first viewing, I was at the store buying both Spaced and Shaun of the Dead!
OH SO SWEET.
I also like MC Hammer
Wasn’t this trailer partly inspired by one of the LETHAL WEAPON trailers you saw during your brief stint working at a cinema? I think I remember you saying that on one of the FUZZ comms.
Not quite. That was just the music we used within the film.
sorry if this hurts DVD sales, but this film should only be seen in the theatre. It’s just too damn big for tv!
The blu ray is supposedly selling at best buy now. I can’t wait to get it. I don’t have a best buy though. This movie gets better every time I watch it. Definitely could tell it was a Rodriguez homage.
Not a Rodriguez homage as such, but inspired by his amazing score cue he did for the film.
you know he dose alot of the music in his movies. like he did the opening theam to Planet Terror
He is awesome at scores - I think he’s contributed to pretty much every film he’s directed, but also does a lot of crew stuff too, including cinematography, operating steadicam, VFX and editing - he’s probably one of the most hands-on big budget filmmakers at the moment.
I noticed in a making of documentary (Once Upon a Time in Mexico) he had guitars on the sides of the monitor magliners while shooting, so that he could pick them up and play them during production! Most probably for when he gets a riff in his head during a scene.
He did the score for Kill Bill Volume 2 for a dollar. Tarantino paid him back by directing the car chase sequence in Sin City for the same price.
Are these trailers the twitter referenced lovely surprise? *skeptical*
Uh. No.
Good. ‘Cause you’re not very good at surprises if they are. I mean, they’re lovely and all, but …
Of course it is possible the surprise was not for us, but I’m selfish — so, naturally, I assumed “got a lovely surprise” was for me. (only me)
SWAN
I love it.
Yeh, i have to watch hot fuzz again now….
